Open Burning Ordinances
Outside burning within the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District is governed by either the local ordinance of the municipality where you live or by the Lake County Permanent Open Burning Ordinance for unincorporated areas of our Fire District. If we are called out for an open burning complaint, our crews are obligated to extinguish any outside fires that are not compliant with the applicable burn ordinance.
